June sees the onset of national breastfeeding week. A time to bring health professionals, breastfeeding support workers and mothers together to help support breastfeeding in our communities. I wanted to do something positive to support national breastfeeding week knowing the challenges and rewards breastfeeding brings. In partnership with the Seftons Health network and Breast Start a picnic was organised for the gardens. I am pleased to report some breastfeeding mums braved the windy and quiet cold gardens to show their support for one another.
Breastfeeding had many benefits for both baby and mum and it is important to come together, celebrate and understand the positive aspects of this natural activity.
