Oh my we have been very busy here in the King's Gardens team organising lots of events in the gardens.
Recently, in partnership with Archeologists from Liverpool Museums and Sefton Coast, we have been running a heritage project about the sea wall, that runs around King's Gardens (you can see the wall that wraps round the boundary on the picture above).
Hopefully you will know now...King's Gardens used to be the beach! So the steps in the gardens were the original steps that our Victorian ancestors used to go paddling.
Students from schools across Southport were involved in the project, learning how to do an archeological dig, and they even found some very old bottles and coins!
Well done to students from Holy Trinity Primary School, Meols Cop High School, St Philips Primary School and The Green Machine!
